Hunter Prodaniuk

StarSkate Director

With a lifelong passion for figure skating, Hunter brings both high-level competitive experience and extensive coaching expertise to her athletes. As a former competitive skater, she represented Alberta at two national-level Skate Canada Challenge events, competed at two Alberta Winter Games, and qualified for five Alberta/Nunavut/Northwest Territories Sectional Championships. She was also selected as a member of the Alberta Select Team and competed at the Senior Women's level.

Throughout her skating career, Hunter trained at the Sherwood Park Figure Skating Club where she earned her Triple Gold Award.

Since beginning her coaching career, Hunter has worked with skaters of all ages and levels, helping athletes achieve success from introductory programs through Gold-level tests. She coached in Sherwood Park from 2014–2021, at Extreme Edge Skating School from 2016–2018, and has been coaching with the Fort Saskatchewan Skating Club since 2023. Hunter is a Regional Certified Coach and Provincially Trained Coach.

Hunter has played a key leadership role in rebuilding and revitalizing programming. Her efforts helped transform the figure skating program, where she is committed to creating a positive, challenging, and supportive environment where skaters can develop strong technical skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of skating.

 

Carys Prodaniuk 

CanSkate Director 
 

 

With a lifelong passion for figure skating, Carys brings extensive competitive experience, technical expertise, and strong leadership to every skater she coaches. As a former high-performance athlete, she competed at the national level three times, including two appearances at Skate Canada Challenge and one appearance at the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships. She also represented her region at two Alberta Winter Games and qualified for eight Alberta/Nunavut/Northwest Territories Sectional Championships. In recognition of her achievements, she was selected as a member of the Alberta Select Team and competed at the Senior Women's level.

Carys trained at the Ice Palace Figure Skating Club under the guidance of an Olympic-level coach, developing a strong technical foundation and a deep understanding of athlete development. She earned her Triple Gold Award and successfully landed all five standard triple jumps.

Since beginning her coaching career, Carys has worked with skaters of all ages and abilities, helping athletes build confidence, develop strong skating skills, and achieve their personal goals. She has been coaching with the Fort Saskatchewan Skating Club since 2022 and is entering her fifth season with the club and has gained five years of Program Assistant experience while working under the mentorship of Leeann and Hunter. Carys is a Regional Certified Coach.

As CanSkate Director for the past three years, Carys has played a key role in rebuilding and growing the club's Learn-to-Skate programming. Through her leadership, dedication, and innovative programming, she helped revive a program and transform it into a thriving part of the club. Carys is passionate about creating a fun, positive, and inclusive environment where skaters can develop strong fundamentals, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of skating.

 

 

Leeann Wilkin 

Coaching Representative  
 

 

With a passion for athlete development and a wealth of experience in both coaching and competition, Leeann brings exceptional leadership and expertise to her role as Coaching Representative. Her extensive background in skating, coaching, and program development has made her a respected mentor within the skating community.

As a competitive synchronized skater, Leeann qualified for six Canadian National Championships and earned an impressive collection of national medals, including gold, silver, and bronze. She was also a Canadian Junior Synchronized Skating Champion, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and teamwork at the highest levels of the sport.

Leeann has dedicated many years to developing skaters and programs throughout Alberta. She served as CanSkate Director at the Sherwood Park Figure Skating Club for eight years, where she helped build strong foundational programs and foster a positive learning environment for hundreds of young skaters. She later continued her leadership as CanSkate Director at Gateway Skating Club for three years, further expanding her expertise in program management and coach development.

In addition to her Learn-to-Skate experience, Leeann coached provincial-level synchronized skating teams for two seasons, helping athletes develop technical skills, teamwork, and competitive confidence. She is a Regional Certified Coach and Provincially Trained Coach, bringing a strong understanding of Skate Canada's coaching standards and athlete development pathways.

As Coaching Representative, Leeann is committed to supporting coaches, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality programming for skaters of all ages and abilities. Her combination of national-level competitive experience, coaching expertise, and proven leadership makes her an invaluable member of the club and coaching team.

 
 
 
Jane Meyer
 

Jane brings a strong technical foundation, competitive experience, and a passion for athlete development to her coaching. As a former competitive figure skater, she trained at the Sherwood Park Figure Skating Club and competed at the Alberta/Nunavut/Northwest Territories Sectional Championships, reaching the Novice Women's level. Her dedication to the sport led her to earn her Double Gold status in Dance and Freeskate, demonstrating excellence across multiple disciplines.

As a Regional Certified Coach, Jane combines her competitive background with professional coaching expertise to support skaters at every stage of development. She has continued to build on her skating experience through coaching, working with athletes ranging from developing skaters to national-level competitors.

Jane's expertise extends beyond traditional on-ice instruction. She provides both on-ice and off-ice training and is experienced in harness coaching, helping skaters safely develop advanced technical skills, build confidence, and progress through challenging elements. Her well-rounded approach to coaching allows athletes to develop strength, technique, and performance skills both on and off the ice.

In addition to her coaching experience, Jane spent two years as a Program Assistant, gaining valuable experience working with young skaters and developing strong teaching and communication skills. Her positive attitude, technical knowledge, and commitment to athlete success create a supportive environment where skaters can thrive while developing a lifelong love of the sport.

 
 
Adrianna Davis
 
 

Adrianna brings a unique blend of skating and dance expertise to her coaching, helping athletes develop strong technical skills, artistry, musicality, and confidence both on and off the ice. She is a Regional Certified Coach and a Triple Gold Award recipient in Artistic, Dance, and Skills, reflecting her dedication to excellence and well-rounded development within the sport of figure skating.

In addition to her skating accomplishments, Adrianna has an extensive background in competitive dance, with 18 years of experience training and competing in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and tap. Her diverse dance education has given her a deep understanding of movement, body awareness, performance quality, and artistic expression, all of which she incorporates into her coaching.

Adrianna is passionate about helping skaters build strong foundational skills while developing creativity, confidence, and a love of performance. Her ability to combine technical instruction with artistic development allows skaters to become well-rounded athletes both on and off the ice.

Through her positive and encouraging coaching style, Adrianna creates an environment where skaters feel supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve their personal goals. She is committed to helping every athlete reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong passion for skating and movement.

Mikala Cutler
 
Lead CanPower Coach
 

Mikala is a highly accomplished coach and former competitive athlete with extensive experience in both singles and ice dance disciplines. She is a Quad Gold Test achiever, demonstrating excellence across multiple skating streams and a strong technical foundation in the sport.

As a competitive skater, Mikala represented Alberta at the highest levels, competing nationally in ice dance at both Challenge and Canadian Tire National Championships. She trained at the Ice Palace Figure Skating Club and competed in singles up to the Novice level before transitioning to ice dance, where she reached the Senior level. She was also a member of the Alberta Select Team, highlighting her status as one of the province’s top developing athletes.

Mikala has represented her region at multiple Alberta/Nunavut/Northwest Territories Sectional Championships and Alberta Winter Games, gaining valuable competitive experience and a deep understanding of athlete development at every stage. She also holds Diamond Dance certifications, reflecting her strong technical precision and ice dance expertise.

In her coaching career, Mikala currently works with Provincial-level athletes at the Ice Palace Figure Skating Club, where she focuses on developing strong technical execution, performance quality, and competitive readiness. She has also been selected as a 2026 Alberta Winter Games Zone 5 Coach, recognizing her leadership and ability to guide athletes at major multi-sport events.

Mikala is committed to creating disciplined, supportive, and high-performance training environments. Her combination of elite ice dance experience, multi-discipline skating background, and coaching expertise allows her to guide athletes toward achieving both technical excellence and long-term success in the sport.

 
 
Ava Carter
 
 

Ava brings a strong foundation in skating instruction and a genuine passion for helping young skaters develop confidence and a love for the sport. With six years of dedicated Program Assistant experience, she has built a wealth of hands-on knowledge supporting skaters through the early stages of their skating journey.

She is currently NCCP CanSkate Certified and has developed a solid technical base through her own skating background, completing Star 5 Skills and Star 5 Artistic. This experience gives her a well-rounded understanding of the Skate Canada pathway and the progression of foundational skating skills.

Ava is passionate about creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where skaters feel supported, engaged, and excited to learn. She is committed to helping young athletes build strong fundamental skills, grow their confidence on the ice, and develop a lifelong enjoyment of skating.

 
 
Payton Moser
 
With six years of experience as a Program Assistant, Payton is now an NCCP CanSkate trained Coach, eager to share their love of skating. Having completed their 5 Dance, Payton brings a strong foundation and a positive, supportive approach to coaching. They’re excited to help new skaters build skills and confidence on the ice.
 
 
Vanessa Gulliman
 

Vanessa brings a strong foundation in skating instruction and a passion for sharing the sport with skaters of all ages and abilities. She is an NCCP CanSkate Certified Coach and Regional Trained, dedicated to creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment on the ice.

Vanessa has over five years of Program Assistant experience, where she has coached Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate, and PowerSkate programs, helping young skaters develop confidence, balance, coordination, and strong fundamental skating skills. She also served as a CanSkate Head Coach for two years at a skating club in British Columbia, where she supported program delivery and athlete development.

Although primarily focused on coaching, Vanessa has a solid skating background of her own. She has successfully completed Star 3 Freeskate, Star 6 Skills, and Star 6 Dance (A and C) tests, giving her a well-rounded understanding of the Skate Canada pathway and athlete progression.

Vanessa is passionate about introducing skaters to the sport and helping them build strong technical foundations. Her patient, encouraging coaching style helps skaters feel confident and motivated as they progress through their skating journey, from their first steps on the ice through to higher-level StarSkate development.
