Fort Saskatchewan Skating Club Programs

The Fort Saskatchewan Skating Club has been a staple in our community's skating development for generations. Our club is proud to offer a variety of programming to meet skaters needs from beginner to advanced with a national level coaching team. Pre-Canskate and Canskate

Following Skate Canada's learn-to-skate guidelines this program is designed for beginner to intermediate skaters ranging between the ages of 3 to 15. We offer small group classes in a circuit based learning environment developing the FUNdamentals of skating. This is the perfect class to register if your skater has limited skating knowledge or is looking to brush up on skating skills. 

CanPower

This high energy class is geared towards hockey and ringette skaters or those who have been recommended to the program. Designed to improve skating skills and technique focused on balance, power, agility, and speed with conditioning drills which can be applied to game situations. This program is designed for a variety of ages and skill levels with small classes to help reach the skaters full potential. 

Junior Academy

An introduction into the sport of figure skating, this class is recommended for those who have basic skating skills, some figure skating experience, or were recommended to the program. Instruction is given in a group setting allowing skaters to learn introductory level jumps and spins. 

Figure Skating

This program further develops figure skating skills, allowing participants to participate in assessments and develop individualized goals. The club offers two different figure skating class options depending on the level of skater. Recreation classes promote the goal of sport for life in a group lesson environment. STARSkate offers the opportunity to develop learn to train skills with individual lesson time.
